2005 and the Jordan Five

Wait a minute. 2005? Is that right?? Where did the years go? It seems like
just yesterday we were celebrating the arrival of the new millennium! But time
marches ever on, and we must make the most of each day. The Jordan Five
have certainly had a busy and exciting year.

A few exciting things happened in February. Adrienne’s brother Eric returned
home safely from a year-long deployment in Iraq and Kuwait. Scott and the
kids made a short
trip to Sandpoint, Idaho to visit Scott’s Uncle Jim & Aunt
Cindy and their children. Scott’s parents were also there visiting.
Unfortunately, Adrienne couldn’t get time off work so she had to stay behind.
On the weekend before Valentine’s Day, Adrienne and Scott had a romantic
weekend alone in Seattle. They stayed in a one-bedroom furnished condo
downtown and enjoyed some touristy activities and just spending time
together. It was a wonderful weekend! And of course the kids had a blast
spending the weekend with their Nana & Papa.

We took the kids to a few events this year. We saw
The Wiggles in April and
Disney on Ice’s Finding Nemo in November. We all attended Adrienne's
company picnic at
Six Flags. It was a cloudy September day, but we donned
our swimsuits and got wet anyway. Everyone except Nathan got to see the
Mariners in May.
Scott & Christian saw them again on Father’s Day.
Speaking of baseball, we kept busy this spring and summer watching our
own little sluggers!
Alexis played coach-pitch girls-only little league. She had
a great time and made some great plays! In the summer, Christian played on
a YMCA T-ball team. He’s been crazy about baseball all year, so of course
he jumped at the opportunity to play. He sort of learned a few fundamentals,
but he mostly had fun. The Federal Way Mirror did
an article on the
YMCA’s T-ball program featuring 2 pictures of Christian! We couldn’t
have been more proud!

Scott has been working at Alltel (formerly Western Wireless) for just over 6
years now. Scott received a promotion this year; he is now a “senior”
monitor in the Quality Assurance department. Scott is still in the IT degree
program at the
University of Phoenix. Adrienne is now in her 3rd year
working at St. Francis Hospital.

Alexis is in 3rd grade now, and progressing brilliantly! She’s reading close to
a 4th-grade level already. Her favorite subject is math. At a recent
conference, her teacher raved about her scholastic performance.

Nathan is 2 years old, and not a day goes by without him reminding us of his
age by his behavior. He is speaking very well (unfortunately, he also talks
back to us quite well). He loves playing with Big Sister and Big Brother, and
he’s really into sports too. He recently started sharing a room with Christian,
and he loves having Big Brother as a roommate. He’s the cutest little guy,
but that’s to be expected since he looks just like his father.
In August, Scott and Adrienne celebrated their 5-year wedding anniversary
in style! Scott rented a
posh SUV, and he and Adrienne painted the town
red! They dined at
El Gaucho, one of Seattle’s premier steakhouses.
Immediately after the date, Scott and the kids (Adrienne had to stay for
work again) drove through the night to Boise, Idaho. Scott’s cousin Danny
was getting married, and Scott and the kids were able to partake in the
celebration and spend some enjoyable time with Scott’s grandparents (and
his parents, who were also visiting).

In September we orchestrated a big surprise party to celebrate Adrienne’s
dad’s 50th birthday. He was totally surprised! Everyone had a great time.

Scott’s parents visited The Jordan Five twice this year,. On their 2nd visit,
they brought Scott’s sister and their
piano. The latter now occupies our
living room. The kids had a blast playing with Grandma & Grandpa!

We’re gearing up for a family Christmas at home; Adrienne’s parents and
brother will come to our home Christmas morning to open presents. We’d
like to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

God Bless!
