We held a birthday party at our home today in celebration of Nathan's first year.
Nathan had a great time! He played all the games, wore his cake and ice cream, and
opened his presents. His favorite part of the day was looking at the helium-filled
balloons all over the house. Click here to see pictures.
So how is Nathan progressing now that he's 1? Well, he can crawl; stand on his
own; walk a few steps; shake his head "no;" fight with his brother; climb onto
objects; clap; play catch; and push buttons on electronics, appliances, and phones.
His vocabulary includes "Mama," "Dada," "De-da" (bottle), "Dehsee" (Lexy),
"Baa" (bath), "Ba" (ball or hello), "sish" (fish), "da" (that), "dis" (this), and
"ba-ba" (bye-bye).
Adrienne's brother Eric is in the army reserves and has been stationed in
Kuwait/Iraq since February. He had some leave time this month, but he told us all
he would spend the time touring Europe. Imagine our surprise when he showed up
at our door today! He had been fooling us all, and he's planning to spend his 2
weeks here at home. We were all delighted to see him, especially the kids. :)
Juan, Georgina, and Eric came over to our house for a barbecue this afternoon.
After we ate, we played baseball in the backyard (with plastic bats and balls, of
course). There's no telling who won, but a good time was had by all!
